Most common Benz colors/models?

So why are black and silver the most common colors and why are the engines V6 more common than the V8? 85% of W210s I see are E320s, no 430s. I rarely see an E430! I have only seen 3 E55s in person till now. Than I rarely see E500s or E550s. Are the V8s that much more expensive or is it just that people are like, "Oh the V6 is really adequate and why do I need a V8?" Or is it that the people who own the upper end models or the V8s just want more and are rich enough for it? Also the colors that I see are silver, black, or tan. Are the other colors and option to buy?

More people can afford to run a smaller engined car, so the 320 outsells the 430 by quite a margin, Silver cars where the more in thing a few years back, but black is in fashion right now, the white never really caught on in the UK as it did in the USA.

For driving with US speed limits all you need is 2 cylinders. The rest if for acceleration and snobbery.

Yes but the E430s are more prestigious than the E320s obviously, because everyone I talk to assume that it is a V6, and I am like, This the 430 with a 4.3l V8 and they are like, "Oh its got an 8 under the hood??" I am like hell yeah, this thing is powerful! haha makes me feel good.

Oh man how do you do that? I pass almost everyone if I CHOOSE to haha. I get cut off by a lot of jerks everyday and I am going the speed limit, maybe a bit over. I absolutely hate the BMW drivers!! I get cut off by a lot of them! But I like to play with them, if they are behind me and are in a rush, I look in the rear view mirror and as soon as they get next to me and want to cut me off, I push mine and constantly drive next to them and not let them pass!! hahaha I have taught many of them a lesson one way or another. If someone tailgates me, I brake check them. I can't bare jerk drivers!

They are the most common colors because that's what people like. The most popular color for Mercedes is silver at 30%, followed by black (figures are of cars built in Rastatt plant churning out W169 in 2005). If you read about the racing heritage of MB, there is a long tradition of silver championship-winning cars.

Plus silver cars keep cooler in summer and show the dirt less than white or black cars, so you can get away with washing them less frequently.

If you buy a new Mercedes, you can order any color you like from the available palette.

Yep I have a black and that thing is a mess if not washed frequently, I normally wash it myself but I haven't washed it in a while because I am waiting until I get my shocks replaced around Friday. So then I will get it washed at a car wash and get it polished because nothing looks better than a black car when washed and waxed!

I drove lot of underpowered cars in my life and having technical gift that forced me to use head for driving, not just a foot.
With 21 HP Fiat 126 it took about 2 minutes to speed from 50 to 60 mph (the good model would reach 60) so when I was planning to pass slow vehicle on 2-line highway with opposite traffic, I was making space between the car I wanted to pass and was observing the opposite traffic. When I saw a gap behind vehicle about 1/2 mile from us, I started accelerating.
So when the opposite car finally was behind us and there was a gap, I was already short distance behind the car I was going to pass with speed already 10-15 mph higher.
With such a technique I did not need acceleration for passing.
Coming back to driving VW in CA, the Jetta had about the same power to weigh ratio what 5-cylinder W124 does. Meaning on Grapevine grade I had to keep the gas pedal firmly on the floor to keep the 75-80 mph. One time when starting the climb on 4-lines freeway a Charger was kind of racing with me. He had V8 so he could accelerate, I could not.
But he got stuck on left lane behind slower vehicle, while I blow all that traffic using truck lane.
Your car require almost double fueling up, comparing to my diesel. So when on 600 miles trip you will save 1/2 hr with better acceleration (almost impossible) you will loose that advantage at gas station.
