Post which MB with i6 engine

Hi there.
I would like to consider myself knowledgeable about cars.
So I have heard that straight-6 is perfectly balanced engine with enough power in naturally aspirated form.
I am looking into direction of E280 or E320 on 300CE.

Am I looking into right direction..?

Gasoline version as I drive short distances in the city, but I see that it is mostly automatic transmission, used to driving stick, kind of like be in control..

comments.. suggestions?

oh and budget not huge, in the region till 3000 euro, so I guess it is w124 or w210, before 2000..

I would like to consider myself a nuclear physicist, but they don't let me around heavy water.

By MY98 in North America there no longer was an L6. Your reference to euros suggests that you are not in the US, though.

The 124 would be your best bet, particularly in Europe, if you are looking for a stick and a straight 6.

Good luck.

Let me guess, diesel is way cheaper than any gasoline?
Is your country using propane?

Hey there! If you get a W124 with a m104 engine i6, 280 or 320 be sure to check the following:

Wiring harness
Do a quick google on m104 wiring harness and you will learn all about it.

ETA
You can look on top of the ETA there is a green sticker which has a datestamp in this form 94X10, that stands for made in year 1994. If the car has a date stamp of before 1998 (so i have read correct me if I'm wrong) it will also have biodegredable eco junk wiring and will need rewiring or a new unit.

Also check the back of the head for oil leaks and distribution/head triangle for oil leak these are pretty common.

I found out the hard way after importing a w124 E280 from Germany. The car is totally worth it though!

I was under the impression that the self recycling wiring harness issues were over with the start of the 1996 USA model year.
