Mercedes Benz made vs Bosch spare parts
I have 2000 w202 c240. Love it for everything it stands for. That's why I'm very religious about the quality of parts I use. Yesterday I had its fuel filter changed. The one I bought was Bosch but the old one was Mercedes Benz genuine part. (The old German lady took a very good care of it and had it serviced at Mercedes Benz official dealer only) I can say that this car is just Daimler AG made parts from head to toe, even air and cabin filters. I know that Bosch is well known for it's quality automative spare parts and that Daimler AG themselves cooperate with Bosch very closely. But I still wonder, is it a bad idea if I use Bosch parts instead of the Mercedes Benz made ones? The parts I'm talking about are spark plugs, filters, brake pads, washer blades and such. I'm asking this because in my country a Bosch oil filter costs $8 while the same thing costs more than $15 at Mercedes Benz dealer.
