Post How to treat an owner the right way!

A couple of weeks ago I went to a local silk screener, t-shirt printer to see about having a couple of t-shirts silk screened. I simply wanted a 3point star in a circle, and a witty little statement, about my satisfaction with my Benz's. The manager refused my request, and told me to come back with written permission. I then contacted MBUSA, and was given a e-mail address to submit my request. In less than two days I got a response which was no, but it said that I could respond to this. When I called the number provided I got the "stock response that we don't do this. I then asked if I could talk to someone higher up, and my call was transferred. I explained my situation, and was told to expect a response. Within two days I had a call again denying my request, but because I tried to respect M-B's trademark I was asked how many t-shirts I wanted to have silk screened. I told the service rep that I wanted to have 3 made. Five days later I received a written notice of rejection. The next day I got a Fed-Ex package with 3 T-Shirts from M-B Lifestyles with a charge off to MBUSA Corporate thanking me for being a satisfied user. I only wish that every business that I have dealt with in my lifetime respected me as a valuable customer like I was in this case.

What was the email?
I had similar experience with Michelin wipers. I bought one at Walmart and it fell off the car in pieces 5 miles later. I called the Michelin and they asked me what size I had. They found that I had it 1" too long, so they send me
1. the size I bought in the type I bought
2 the size I bought in newer type
3. the recommended size in type I bought
4 the recommended size in newer type.
Total 4 wiper for one that I complained about.
Later when I backtrack the installation, it could be my fault not double checking the clicking spring. I did NOT send those 4 wipers back.

Very gratifying to know that you're a respected customer. It's part of why we love our cars.

So Walmart replaced your wipers. What does this have to do with this post?

Perhaps you shouldn't post just to hear yourself type.

Perhaps you should read before being so critical?

He called MICHELIN, the manufacturer, just as the OP called MERCEDES, the manufacturer. I don't think either of them called WalMart.

No, it's not exactly the same, but both have to do with how owners are treated, don't they?

And if we can return from your hijack...dbamber, that's a great tale. At one time MB was regarded for really treating their customers like no other, and then the beancounters got involved. Still, it's better than many.

Thanks for sharing.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)
