Best I did with my current car is 140mph, higher speeds with other cars though... made sure it was safe, it was +/- 01h00 am.

I've got an E550.. Super easy to be cruising along at 65, mash the gas and be over a 100 in a few seconds..
Even on Dallas freeways.
I've hit the limiter a couple of time.. (132 mph) Can't stay there for very long.. But 100-110 quite often..

Back in 2010 was driving my CLK 430 on the Interstate in Va, got her up to about 120 and shut it down, way to fast, but from time to time I'll punch her up to about 90 mph.
lol

I only just saw this thread. I must confess that I love the thrill of speed, but I am not turned on by stupidity. I have no problem hitting 125mph (200 km/h) on the freeway. Ordinarily, my car gets almost no use so I try to hit the freeway from time to time, and do a short run at around 110 mph (180 km/p) to give it a stretch. In town I might get to the speed limit quickly, but I don't tend to exceed it by very much, and I'm probably doing under the limit in crowded suburbs. Freeways were made for speed!

In 7th gear I have taken my C230 Sports Coupé to 150 mph (240ish Km/p). Don't laugh at me. It is just a baby V6 and it runs out of steam at 240 GPS measured Kilometres hehe. It is probably a good thing I don't own a SL65 or 65 anything really, but I will one day. Then I will probably get arrested on the freeways leading out of town and go to jail LOL!

Led Zeppelin is definitely NOT a good soundtrack to listen to on the freeway. The 'stairway to heaven' leads straight to jail LOL!

about 105 mph in a BMW Z4
about 100 in a Chevy S10 - don't know for sure, the speedo only went to 85 and the needle was down in the odometer

How fast have you ever driven?

I have driven every car I have owned as fast as I could but no faster then I felt comfortable;
1978 Buick Regal - 80
1987 Merkur XR4Ti - 128
1987 Buick Gran National - 90 - got there quick
2000 Mustang Cobra convertible 120 (maybe) -car was frightening
2001 Mini Cooper S 129 -flat out
2005 Mercedes C320 125 -never had room to go faster
2013 Mercedes E550 Coupe 128 – car is new to me, will go to Limiter (133?), working on it
