Not really, in America, the drivers sorely lack etiquette and are all over the highway. They are distracted by the presence of the police and artificially low speed limits.
When Arizona had a 55-mph limit, people were dying everywhere because they were falling asleep. It was horrible. Now that it's 75 mph, fatalities have taken a sharp drop.
In Germany, I usually travel at 160 km/h or 100 mph. I still move back to the right because there are always cars that want to go faster. They're not bothering anybody as long as they stay on their own land and I'm not blocking them. It just becomes natural to me, I'm very comfortable going 100 mph especially on A2 that has three lanes both ways and is completely straight. Sometimes I find myself doing 200 km/h (120 mph) and there will still be people passing me.
