My chief complaint about Progressive is that they dictate the repairs, including the use of used parts or aftermarket parts. Cheapo junky body panels that are massaged to fit into place don't interest me, thank you very much. That's one of the ways they save money, but I don't think it's very "Progressive." I have them on my bike, but that's only because I don't have any collision on it anyway, so it's immaterial.
The rule is you should shop around every couple of years, I just saw an article indicating that when drivers switch they save a few hundred dollars on average. Some years back I had 21st on the Benz and it inched up every year, when I looked around Liberty Mutual was the cheapest, then they went up, currently I'm back with 21st. But still, shop around if you're ever curious. Just have your current policy in front of you so you have the hard numbers and then the quote is easily compared to your current situation.
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)
