Advice, Quick! Tire replacement ASAP
2010 E350 Coupe 21K Miles, Still w/ Original Equipment Tires (PZero Nero 235/40-18 91H FRONT and 255/35-18 94H REAR).
Only in NYC will you find a huge crater on the highway. Suffice it to say, going 70mph and hitting this crater did some damage to my tires.
Front & Rear Passenger side tires = bubble/bulging sidewalls = inevitable blowout. Would have been much simpler had it been both front or rear tires. Damn.
When swapping out the Front & Rear passenger tires, how important is it that the speed ratings match? Very confused because Pirelli Website recommends stating it's original equipment, (which it's not!)
PZeroNero 235/40ZR18 (95Y) FRONT and 255/35ZR18 94Y REAR which are obviously slightly different to the actual original equipment.
I know as a rule of thumb should never mix & match tire speeds.. but honestly, would it be ok to mix? There is also a significant price savings with the Y vs H, found them for $145/each.
Gotta sort this out ASAP because my car is literally on the street accumulating parking tickets. Thanks!
