Unhappy No fuel

Hi I have a 2007 C280 which I am very pleased with my situation is that 3 weeks ago I was pulling out of the driveway and the car shut off and has not been able
to start. Mechanic said Fuel Pumps. Replaced still won't start he said relay.Replaced still won't start. Fuse replaced.Mechanic quit.Is there any possibility that this vehicle needs an ECU or for it to be reprogrammed?

The changing of the pumps, filter and relay do not require programming.

Do you know what kind of scan tool he used to check for codes. The prudent thing to do at this point is to find a mechanic that can read and understand MB specific fault codes.

The mechanic had a Snap-On scan tool but it wasn't pulling any codes and I was told that the ECM/ECU lost its programming....at this point I'm in over 2K in parts and labor and I have to stop the bleeding...any info would greatly be appreciated.
