Have this topic in W164 as well now!
Since then I disconnected the front right speed sensor and problem is gone so I installed my new steering angle sensor + re-connected my front right speed sensor and problem is gone. NOW after clearing all fault codes, the problem is back. NOW after disconnecting the front right speed sensor, the problem is gone. NOW after re-connecting the speed sensor and NOT clearing the fault codes, the problem is still gone, but ESP/ABS is BOTH inoperable and unavailable. And now we are at the yaw sensor below which also plays a roll here.
YAW SENSOR: Okay, early on with our ESP/ABS light inoperable problem, I read the yaw sensor can cause this problem and bought a new one and installed it (with NO change what so ever) even though it is an updated one BUT IS COMPATIBLE (bought it from a parts dealer on E-bay and showed compatible) NOW THE INTERESTING PART IS I found a used one on E-bay just like (same exact #'s) of the one I took out of my vehicle and when I check the compatibility IT IS NOT (looks as though someone changed it before we got the vehicle and I have no idea of the original part # is. The new one we installed probably has to be programmed into the ecu to work correctly because one of the fault codes coming up speaks of the yaw sensor and implausible readable info of front speed sensors.
DOES anyone owning an 07 ml320 cdi and would by chance have the part numbers off their original yaw sensor. My original looks brand new with part # A 004 542 39 18 and shows to be NOT compatible to my vehicle on E-bay YET my new replacement one part # A 006 542 70 18 shows compatible but I'm sure it needs to be programmed into the system to work correctly. I would like to find even a good original used one if possible for now.
