I'm again updating to let 722.6 owners know that I have begun using Shell 134 fluid, an MB approved fluid on the 236.14 spec sheet.

It is the fluid I will stick with, as the transmission function is much better than with the MaxLife or the Febi fluids, and it is easy to find for a decent price.

So what is the current mileage?
Since last post here, I met buyer who bught 1997 E300D from me about 8 years ago. The car has over 300k on it.
It was neglected in the past and when I did ATF flush at about 200k, I found Goo-like stuff in the pan.

Current mileage is 223,000, about 102,000 since the rebuild.

There are often small metalic particles in the pan when you drop it. Even after 40,000 miles since last filter change, I found very small metallic dust in the fluid, as well as some larger metal debris.
