Does you owners manual say anything about topping off the tank?
You're not supposed to top off the tank because the gas can expand and go back through the system. This is a warm weather event and it's winter here.
It's been a long time since I've been a mechanic so I could be wrong.
How can you go to a place, have them read the code for free and then say "Thank you, bye"? They would want to fix the car or sell the parts. I wanted a Mercedes Cap. If I bought an aftermarket cap, I wouldn't know if that was the problem, if the light came back on.
On a side note:
When I bought the cap I also bought front break pads.
Man behind the counter : "Do you know how to shut off the system?"
Me: "What are you talking about?"
Him: "Have you done this before?"
Him: "How did you do it?"
ME: :Tell him how.
Him : "That's exactly how we do it here but, we shut off the system first"
I guess I better search how to shut it off. Although, what would make it go off?
