Heated Door Mirrors

Hi all,

This is my first Mercedes and I need a bit of clarification on the heated door mirrors as different posts seem to give conflicting answers. All I want to know is how I turn the heaters on?

Some answers say they come on with the rear heater, some say itís fully automatic when the temp drops below a threshold value, some say itís both . . . ? Which is correct, or is it model dependent?

Cheers

Mitch

I experienced it to be both.
I had foggy mirrors in warm weather and they did not heat. Turned the rear defrost on and they warmed up.

Just to be clear are you are saying that you have visually seen them heat up automatically when cold when the read defrost was off as well as when you manually turned on the rear defrost?

Where I leave there is not cold enough to observe the thermal switch activation, but it was on our trip North where fogged mirrors would not clear till I hit defrost.
