Two part question: which to trade in, what to do with old MB?
Hi guys. Here is my situation. I own a 2000 CLK. After having 2 kids, bought wife 2012 M Class. M is too small, so we decided to do the mini van. Sad, but has to be done. The minivan we plan on getting is priced at around $41K.
Issue is I'm not sure which car to get rid of to make room for the mini van. The CLK has about 175K miles on it. Definitely showing its age, and with its share of minor dents and scratches. But still very drive-able with no major mechanical issues, and I had planned on driving it for several more years if we had kept the M model. Trade in value would only be $2K.
Paid about $55K for the M back in 2012, and its trade in value would be around $38K. Really hate losing $17K after only two years. Was thinking of keeping the M, but don't really want to take on a new car payment after we just finished paying off the M. Expenses are already tight with two kids.
Second question is, if I do get rid of the CLK, is there any other option to get rid of it? I see well maintained models going for $6-7K, but I highly doubt mine would go for more than $3K, and don't want to have go through the hassle of trying to sell it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
