Advice on LED daytime driving lights switch.
I recently traded my 2009 C350 on a 2010 E350 Coupe.
The E has the very same lightswitch as the C but it has the additional LED daytime driving lights which gets activated or deactivated via the onboard computer and not the lightswitch.
I am used to the main driving lights coming on automatically at dusk when the lightswitch is turned to position 'A' and by turning the switch back to position 'O' the lights will switch off.
The thing with the E is, when the LED lights are on and only when they are on, the Xenons will switch on automatically at dusk irrespective of the lightswitch position and they stay on as long as the engine is running. In other words, you can't switch them off without killing the engine first. Is it supposed to be like that? It's highly annoying as everytime I enter my garage the Xenons will switch on, only to be switched off again 5 seconds later when I switch the motor off. I'm worried that this will shorten their life span?
