ECU Replacement- Save $$$$

My wife's 04 C-240 would not start. After much reading and speaking with people, I had pretty much decided the problem was the ECU. (first indication, fan at high speed immediately when key was turned to start.). then the next problem was, how to make sure. I knew the dealer cost would be around 1,400 to replace it, plus the nearest dealer is 45 min away, so had to be towed. I finally found a company in Michigan called MercedesECU. I overnighted them my unit and they programmed my start info in to it and tried it on another car. they said it appeared to be water damage and had to be replaced. They used a rebuilt one that they had in stock, programmed my info in to it and mailed it back. It was plug and play so the car started immediately. The cost was a little over $700 and it is guaranteed to work. The guy who runs the company is named Jeff so I suggest you go to their website and get the numbers and find info about how to get yours fixed or replaced.

PS. I sent a message to Remey about fixing it and he suggested I post the info on the site so others could use them if they need theirs fixed.
