An update on my previous request, the vehicle is a 1995 E320 sedan with 231,000klms & in general condition.when starting the engine revs/pulses up & down until reved up to warm temp, when headlamps turned on the low beams burnt out ( both@ once ???)fuses appear OK.h/lamp bulbs were replaced & engine started again & bulbs blown again, parklamps & side lamps not affected! .vehicle drives OK when warm but no h/lamps,( daytime running lamps have not worked for years!!).my wife now says rotten eggs smell in vehicle when driven(I have lost sense of smell).I have replaced 02 sensor 1 1/2 years ago.Is problem fuel/pollution control problem or electrical, battery is charged .Would like some sort of input if possible to @ least try to diagnose where to start .Dealer 2 hrs away & not worth trying to contact.hope someone can put some light on mqy problem..... Thanks kiwi Trev.

Please post this in the W124 section we have. The wiring harness in that year was known to be terribly vulnerable to having the insulation crumble off the copper wire. I suspect you my have an issue with it.
Lots of very knowledgeable people people in our W124 section which is I would ask this question.
