Ill try that when I get home thanks again. Also since we're on the topic, I just realized my sunroof doesn't open or close at all it just stays shut. Also 3 out of the 4 windows open and close. Any ideas? Reason I ask is I JUST noticed my sunroof is slightly leaking and I think it's not completely closed

When was the last time you were able to use the roof? Does it move back and forward at all? Before replacing any parts, try lubricating the seals and any moving parts with silicone...if I understand you correctly, its not fully closing but moving back and forward?

With respect to the windows, one of the three are not working. Those windows were wired in a ring (similar to the later E classes). Its mostly likely a wire gone bad or terminal but to know exactly, door panels would need to come off

It has never worked when I owned it at all, previous owner says hasn't been opened since 2002 when it suddenly stopped

Hmm it would be a little tough to diagnose exactly why a sunroof hasn't opened in 10+ years without seeing it . At this point, it could be anything; wiring, contacts, a relay, fuse...aside from that, just due to the length of time not using it, probably have a seized motor and corroded guide rails...the list sort of goes on here. Not to discourage you or anything but a new assembly may be your best bet

car-part.com has a search engine for Canadian used parts.

I found one sunroof in Alberta and Black Diamond Recycling. It said to call for price.
