Confused about AAM

Hello everybody,

First I like to introduce myself, I am Mike, living in CR and just received the 2001 ML430 I bought from a dealer in Miami.

So far nothing but trouble, but the most annoying issue is that the AAM is damaged, it won't allow me to use the remote to open the doors, I had it checked by a local MB repair shop with a DAS and they are 100% sure.

I was reading up today on the AAM and the compatibility and so on but I m really confused, here is my info from the car:

VIN:4JGAB72E61A237874

AAM 163 545 43 32

Hardware 00/00
Software 15/00

I found a used unit on eBay and i think it would work but would like to have somebody check this for me - just to be sure before ordering the thing and have it shopped all the way to CR.

The eBay unit is "A 163 545 47 32" item number 201002825930

great forum, tons of good info

Tx
Mike

To ensure correct function, replace with an AAM with the exact same part number.

Edit: The AAM for your 2001 ML430 is part no 163 545 53 32. The eBay one you described is an older version (for MY2000) and may not work.

Where did you get that p/n 163 545 43 32? That is not an AAM, but an ESP control module, as shown in this photo from eBay.

Do you have the Star Diagnosis DAS printout? If so, please upload it.

OK, I can confirm that the correct p/n for your AAM is A163 545 53 32.

The software in that DAS has a typographical error. It happens.

CONTROL UNIT. APPARATUS CASE AND CONTROL UNITS. Mercedes # 1635455332

Here are some online used parts locators: http://www.usedautopartdepot.com/use...part-sites.php

You need to search on "Chassis control computer (not engine)" then select the appropriate p/n.
