-Mercedes benz Diesel relay advice!!-

I have a 1994 S350td, I have had a hard time with my engine shutting off. The car runs great and I need another persons opinion. The problem lies with the relay that sends voltage to the switchover valve in the engine compartment. The relay blew and the fuse blew also. I replaced the fuse and the car didn't shut off. I went to a pick & pull and pulled some of the relays out of a old benz. Got home and installed it, as I put it in, the stop lever on the injection pump sucked down as should. I thought I had fixed the problem but when I tried to start the car, the current to the switch over didn't release causing the engine not to receive fuel. I have found the area that is causing the shut down problem. I'm just stuck because there isn't information on what these relays do or control. I don't want to take it to the shop just yet. It's the relay, or I need a certain type if relay that works with the w140 series.

WOULD WE HAVE DIESEL SECTION, YOU'D HAVE A DOZEN REPLIES BY NOW
Since nobody answer so far, I can help you with general ideas as I don't know your particular engine.
Isn't SOV vacuum operated?
This way, or the other sounds like you crossed parts somewhere installing new part. Try to backtrack your moves and figure out what went wrong.

If all the replies were like yours, he'd be no better off, so that's a moot point.
