Mercedes Benz A Class Fault code P1681

I have a 2002 A class 1.4i which when warm just cuts out. I have taken it to a garage and they have found that a fault code P1681 is causing the problem.
They are unsure what is causing this however they think it could be the crash sensor that is telling the fuel system to shut down because the vehicle thinks its just crashed!!
Has anyone come across this problem before?

When my car cut-out when warm, it was caused by a faulty crankshaft position sensor, which may not trigger a fault code. A bad crash sensor would prevent engine start.
