W123 5-speed transmission - how common or rare?

Hi from Australia.

I am considering purchasing a W123 300TD (Euro-spec non-turbo 3-litre diesel wagon) which has the 5-speed transmission I've been wanting for some time.

Any comments or observations regarding the rarity or otherwise of the 5-speed, and also what sort of price premium (if any) one could expect to pay for a vehicle with this option fitted from new?

Any input will be much appreciated!

If I do decide to purchase I'll be forced to sell a much-loved low-mileage W123 sedan that is a lot cheaper to run and has a lot more power than any W123 diesel - my 1983 230E sedan which is dual-fuel LPG/petrol.
