giggspy, you can complain all the way to the CEO of MB like this member did
, but they're not going to give you a refund or exchange over this minor software glitch. The car came with a warranty and they are committed to fixing it. You can enjoy driving the R-Class and forget about your GL until they fix it, or take it back and ignore the intermittent CEL. If you choose to get pissed off about it, and whinge about it on Fb or any other forum, that's up to you.
Meanwhile there are thousands dead or homeless after a typhoon ripped through their city, while your $100k car is in the workshop.
Drx, i typically don't like to start a war over the internet, but your observation is a very interesring one. You sounds like the dealership with the attitude of "too bad, you stuck with it, we will try to fix your car, even though we don't know when we can get it done. In the mean time, why don't you drive this 30k car instead and let your car depreciate in our shop." As a consumer, this is not acceptable to me. It maybe acceptable to you, but to me, customers has to stand up for thwmselves, or they will get ripped off by large enterprise all day long.
In addition, i don't know why you brought up typhoon haiyan, does natural disasters on earth somewhere gives dealership and car manuefactures the right to sell problematic cars to consumers? If you bought a lemon, while there's an earthquake somewhere else，can the dealer say to you:"hey, keep your lemon car, there's nothing we can do, plus, theres thousands just became homeless, so you should feel ok buying a lemon car, since you are not affected by the earthquake."
I feel blessed everyday, that doesn't mean I should feel ok with a problematic vehicle that i just purchased new.
