Certified

I want to trade in my MB with enough time and miles left so that the dealer can turn around and sell it as certified. What is the max miles it can have and max years old that the car can be?
Thanks!

Thanks for your answer. :-)

Yes, after I ask here first.
Someone might have a unique experience with this issue that might be benefical before I "dance" with the dealer.

There is no guarantee that the car will qualify for the CPO program. Condition is a primary consideration, as well as mileage. I too would suggest you ask a dealer and then bring that info back to the Forum so it can be discussed. Best Wishes--Carl

Thanks!
I just bought a CPO car and it came with a lot of documentation. According to one document if the car has over 75K miles or is over 6 model years old, it does not qualify for the program. There are others reasons as well.

I just asked my buddy who works in a local dealership. He said maximum is 75k miles. This is Toronto, other countries and provinces may be different.

Thanks for the answers.
Labguy and Mis3 that's what I was looking for. Thanks for the research.
If I trade mine in right before it goes out of warranty it should be less then 4 years old and have about 32,000 miles. So, as long as I meet the "other reasons" I should be OK.
A dealer told me once that it is kinda a big deal to be within the parameters when you trade back in. But I couldn't remember roughly what they were.

But of course, if you are looking for the better deal, you will sell it yourself and not trade it.

Labguy, Now you have my attention. Does Mercedes have a strong private resell market?

I wouldn't say that Mercedes has any stonger of a private resale market than any other manufacturer. From everything that I have read you will get a better price on your used car if you spruce it up and sell it yourself. The dealer trade in price will usually be the lowest.

For example when I sold my Chevy Tahoe, the dealer offered me $14,000. I refused the low offer and sold it using craigslist for $16,000 a couple of weeks later.
