I don't understand the point you're making although you did mention apples and oranges as the vehicles are different. The C350 is a more powerful car and 6.0 seconds is a good time and the time I've seen others post. The C320CDI has different power characteristics being diesel. Lot's of torque down low but not as many KW. The official 0-60 time is about 6.7-6.9 seconds. My DTUK tuning box with a different map has dropped it to 6.28 but I was losing a heap of time in the first 10 metres or so.
The thread I started was looking for ideas on how to launch these new high torque diesels. I'm a new convert to modern diesels so I don't have any experience with them. The C350 being petrol with less torque at low revs, means you can do the old trick by loading up the TQ first then let the brake off and go.
I must say I miss not having an LSD as I'm used to the control and traction they give. I haven't been without an LSD since 1996.
That doesn't seem to work with the diesel so my technique was not right hence asking for ideas. I suspect I don't need to load up the TC at all ... just start pushing the pedal and let the long stroke of that diesel do the work.
As I previously posted I think I've cracked the problem by uploading a better throttle map courtesy of the DTE Systems pedal box. Stay tuned for a new test and I'll video it as well to verify I'm not bending the truth.
