Hey guys I'm new to this forum and first time posting a thread so hopefully I'm in the right spot.
First off, I love my R-class and I've owned it for only a year and haven't had any major issues with it-until now.
The new,4 month old airmatic compressor went out. Found that the 40-amp fuse blew. Bought a new one, unplugged the compressor and replaced the blown fuse. Plugged the compressor back in and the new fuse blew instantly. Figured the compressor is shorting somewhere.
Since it'd be a warranty repair, I took it to the dealership to have the compressor replaced.
Sept.16th, 7:30 a.m--Dropped car off at Mercedes Service dept.
-Apx. 4 p.m. Mercedes verified that the issue is indeed in the compressor.
They had one in stock and said the car will be ready Sept 17th in the afternoon.
Sept.17th--They had the wrong part and said that theyll 'll over-night the correct compressor and have the car will be done on Sept.18th in the afternoon
Sept.18th--Mercedes calls and says they ordered the wrong part
-Again said theyll over-night the correct compressor and have it done in the afternoon on Sept. 19th (today)
Sept.19th--Called to see when I can come pick up the car, they're saying the car doenst start now and its not their fault and that they'll find and fix the issue but ill have to pay.
I go in and talk to the manager and he tells me that now that a leak in the right rear strut was the issue and that's why the compressor burned out and shorted.
In the end, all they were supposed to do was change the compressor, but instead, made my car inoperable and aren't taking responsibility for it.
What am I supposed to do????
