I would like to bring to your kind notice that there is this alarming hazardous door of my mercedes benz R class CDI 350 car which i purchased from your dealer Chennai India.
Though mentioned as a standard of all benz cars in your manuals and booklets, the problem of the door opening from the inside of a running R class has caused a major problem when a relative of mine travelling along with me accidentally opened the latch and was to fall out of the moving car. This situation has made my entire family very uncomfortable and rather do not prefer to travel in the mercedes benz after all. I own a hyundai i10, a honda city, a honda brio and a suzuki alto, i did own a honda accord and two toyota innovas, a chevy tavera, a tata indica in which there is a safety latch on the door which needs to be opened before pulling the main latch to open the door.
I am surprised why mercedes benz has not looked in to this safety aspect while designing the cars. No one would love to jump out of a car and if he has to he could jump out of the other cars with the safety latch too.
This is a major draw back as regards to the design of the locking system and i plead to the authorities to find a solution for the same.
I would not rather have my family falling out of my running car because mercedes benz says its a standard feature.
Please do find a solution for me.
