Squealing noise while driving

I know that the squealing noise coming from wheels while braking is a sign that it's time to replace the brake pads. But what about the same noise while driving? I've read several posts and all say that this too indicates the worn-out brake pad. Is it true? If so then how come brake pads make noise while driving? I mean aren't they loose while the brake pedal is released?

Could be a variety of things that range from brakes to bearings to tires to suspension. Get the thing in and up on a lift and diagnosed. Whatever it is is NOT good for the car.
