2012 300 4Matic Sport to Luxury

Is it possible to convert my 300 Sport 4Matic to the Luxury model? My back won't take the hard shocks and ride. If not, can anything be done to soften the ride quality? Is there a "simple" fix?

The springs and shocks would have to replaced with softer ones.

would that be something that the dealer could do? Would it change anything else about the ride, other than making it softer? Do they just use Luxury springs and shocks?

I experienced that height of the tires make huge difference.
Sold ML55 mainly because I made error putting 20" wheels on it.
Since wheels between MB are exchangeable pretty easy, maybe finding wheels from non-sport model will satisfy your needs?

That is a good point. More sidewall will give it a better ride.

If the dealer does the shocks and springs I have a feeling it be 4 times the price of using good aftermarket parts like Bilstein, KYB, Eibach, and others to make a softer riding spring/shock combo.

If I understand correctly, first try tire(s) with more sidewall and, if that
doesn't work, try aftermarket shocks and springs (cost??). What size tires would you suggest?

Seems like an awfully expensive set of "tries." I suppose that the existing shocks and springs that exist can't be tuned for a softer ride?

I was buying 16" OEM wheels for less than value of rubber on them.
Seems in those time lot of owners are DOWNGRADING to low profile tires, therefore really good wheels sell for pennies on dollar.

Thanks, Guys

Mercedes USA advises that the changes would have to be major so no point in going forward. I guess I'll just have to live with it.
