Help Identifying Parts / Purpose

1982 Mercedes 300SD - Second time owner.
Just bought this car, I wish to restore and clean up all of wear and tear done to it.

I need help identifying a few parts and/or their purpose. I thought the first picture was of the lower ball joint, but I may be wrong. If I'm laying UNDER the car from the front, I look toward the brake rotor and I see this... busted piece of rubber and rusted piece of metal. The big metal wall you see in the first image, is the house of the brake rotor... well on the other side of it are my brakes. The image is of the passenger side front. There is a tremendous rusty-squeaky sound that occurs if I push down or up on the bumper. It comes from that piece. Also, when turning left it feels like I'm driving with a flat; and driving straight, it pulls to the right.. Tread is good, and this only recently started least of what I noticed.

The second, is a green wire that runs along the transmission through a harness. It was just hanging there. The white wire is inserted in some hole that appears to be on purpose.

The third, is the rubber attached to the drive shaft?

The more details, the better.

Thank you!
