Hello fellow Benz lovers!
I have owned several wonderful Benz vehicles in my day but now have taken on a new "Green" strategy so as to take advantage of some tax breaks and other cost saving advantages in these bleak times! Hence we are all (in my company) driving Mitsubishi iMiEV 100% electric vehicles... They are fine for running around town and with a small fleet of four vehicles we are really saving money on fuel!
Apart form my love of all things Benz, I still have the opportunity to handle a few beauties now and then, being in the vehicle tracking business!
Now for the "Ulterior Motive"...
I have a client with a 2013 CLA 220 CDI Sport... he wants me to install a tracker with an engine stop.
Normally we use the ignition contact, or we interrupt the fuel supply, or we cut the starter motor so the vehicle wont start again once it is stopped.
HOWEVER... we have not worked on the new and sensitive (electronically speaking) models... particularly to install an engine stop! I am worried about ending up with a Christmas tree array of alert and warning lights in the dash!
I wonder if there are any of you with experience in this and who might be prepared to share your words of wisdom???
Thanks and very best regards.
