1995 SL500 engine surging

I have a 95SL500 low miles that has an engine surge at all rpm's. Surge can range from 600rpm down to 200rpm depending on speed. Had extensive work done when I first obtained the vehicle including gas actuator, wiring harness, rotors and caps, but the problem persisted till I ran Sea Foam through 4 tanks of gas. Vehicle ran good for one year,(stored in off season) and now same problem has returned. Ran several tanks of gas with additive, but surge still there. Any advice for a novice mechanic to look for? I really don't want to take it somewhere and run into the same issues.

About once a year my e320 (94') does the surging issue. In my case this is always due to the mass air flow sensor. It may be the issue you are having.
