Rusting Seat Frame - 2012 ML350

Dear all,

Yesterday was the first time I lifted up the rear bench to allow the luggage compartment to be expanded - and to our shock, the entire seat frame was covered in rust!

Has anyone experienced this in their Mercs? BMW had a similar issue late last year with rusting seat frames on their F30 3 series.

I'm not pleased at all - brought the car brand new last year and has since done 5000kms. Never expected this on a 11 month old Mercedes Benz.

Needless to say you will take it to the dealer for warranty replacement.

That is horrible to find on such a young vehicle.

I had my back seat removed to service the fuel pump on my 99 ML and it had no rust at all.

Not surprising at all. The metal is unfinished. In a humid environment, sure it will rust.
