'99 E320 temperature issue

hi guys, I have a 99 e320 and I just changed the water pump and the thermostat, the temp gauge runs from 95 to 100 degrees, is that normal? And what could possibly be the issue?

Thanks alot

Welcome to the forum.
Engine running at 95C with 40F outside would be hot, while with 140F outiside would be expectable.
Is the radiator original? What coolant do you use?

What was it running prior to the change, what thermostat did you install and what are the weather conditions?

The radiator is original, but the coolant is from canadian tire, cheap stuff. the radiator and thermostat are from mercedes and its averaging 23 celcius outside.

That might be main answer, but did you flush the system doing the job?
15 years old radiator could be neglected before.

There is a version of zerex that will work. A search will tell you which one. I have found that the mercedes coolant from the dealership is not expensive. I would check their prices.
