Hello everybody! Well, as you can probably guess from the section this is posted in, I'm new here. I don't want to bore you all with the details, so I'll just give you the basics. I'm twenty-eight years old and work as a police officer for the LAPD in the Van Nuys division. When it comes to cars I'm a simple novice with limited knowledge, but I usually find my way around the problems that come around with the use of the owner's manual, the repair manual, and of course Benzworld!
I hope to become one of the community and make some new friends real soon. I suppose that's enough about me, so let's move on to my car.
About my car:
As you can infer from my name, my car is well... a diamond in the rough Mercedes. It's a 1983 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL packing the factory V8. It's all mostly original aside from the radio and stereo system. I got it for a good price ($1,400) and though it does have imperfections, I think it'll be a good car. There are some cracks in the dash, the rear window switch doesn't work, and whoever had it before the previous owner had some god-awful idea to install some kind of fuel switch which makes it difficult to start, but all that aside it runs strong on the Highway and has even gotten me to Vegas a few times.
Coming here, I really hope I can learn more about my diamond in the rough!
