WHAT'S HAPPENING TO MERCEDES?

Having driven these cars for 15 years something is changing and it started with the redesigned C class about 5 yrs ago. The steering is numb and totally unsatisfying. Realizing this, I went forth with the last year of the CLK 350 which handled and steered quite well enough (although my hyundai sonata RIGHT NOW steers and handles better!!

Mercedes has a reason I can not fathom for doing this. They will not get the young buyers and as for me at close to 60, I am going more the way of the sports steering and handling which if Mercedes does not start addressing, they will lose many many customers! Mercedes cosmetics and looks are still the best. The solidity of construction is still first rate. I am prepared to say that the steering and handling situation was done for a misadvised purpose of marketing. If this is not corrected in the 2015 c coupe, slk etc... BMW s new 2 and 4 series as well as the Porche Boxter will be my cars to drive for my next years upcoming purchase.
I hope someone high up in the company reads this

Hi, Howard.

For some reason I doubt MB employs a phalanx of folks whose job it is to peruse various internet sites (including forums) to see what someone has to say regarding their products...so it seems unlikely that anyone "high up" in the company will see it, either.

Assuming your'e not just venting, and you really want people at MB to see your concerns, then you're far better off using the contact info at MBUSA's website.

Good luck.

The C class is Mercedes Crap class of cars that are an embarrassment to the brand, however even Mercedes crapiest car is far superior to your POS Hyundai. Nobody is going to take the complaints of a Hyundai driver seriously when you drive one of the lowest quality vehicles ever made.

Not to argue, but J.D.Powers awarded the Sonata the "Most Dependable Mid-Size Car 2013". Just a fact. Best Wishes--Carl

Ughhh a Hyundai Sonata? This is a joke right? Handles better then a CLK or C Class? Sorry but I will be more then happy to challange any Hyundai in my C or CLK in the handling department. Unless you have the Genesis Coupe and you dont Hyundai does not make a single good handling car. The Sonata is a joke and built for college students on a budget... FWD says it all...

Even my C240 that is a 05 now. Made when the C Class was at a real low point the interior is superior along with body quality and handling over the Hyundai. A MB that may be cheap and only $30,000 and still rides better, looks better and will out handle a FWD Hyundai.

I seriously think the OP is just venting about Lord knows what...

I have a go cart that is dependable but that does not make it a high-quality luxury vehicle.

Thinking about it - my 26 years old forklift is very reliable. Starts on propane all the time in couple of seconds even if not used for 1/2 year.
