Shame On Mercedes for Dynamic Seats

I have been a MB multiple car owner for over 25 years and for the first time I am more than agitated at Mercedes for the poor quality of the dynamic seat function. Aside from all other costs for "nothing" service requirements [injector clean, really?] which angers me, the seats have pushed me over the edge. My 2008 S63 has only 20,000 gentle miles with extended warranty [$4000+], which of course doesn't cover the seats.

It cost $1400 to fix the drivers seat after it being fixed 3 years before on warranty, and the very same day after picking it up, the passenger seat now is hissing [sounds like I'm passing gas!] and service wants another $900 to fix that. Really?, outrageous for an outrageously priced car in the first place. When you consider how much we pay for these features one would think that MB would at least use a quality material to give the seats some durability. It goes against all their so-called durability nonsense in their advertising. At what point does it become false advertising? Durability and reliability at our cost which has nothing to do with Mercedes quality.

On just this low mileage car I have now spent over $3000 in tires and repairs since it was new, and I won`t even get into the ML55, our family nightmare, or ``retirement fund depleter``. My daughters Lexus RX300 is 13 years old, 60,000 miles, tires 75% still, and less than $1000 total service and repairs including one battery. Amazing vehicle. Hmmm.

The blatant arrogance of the service people who look at you and you know they are thinking if we can afford such an expensive car then why bitch about our over charges? Most of us actually earned our ability to buy these cars and did so making wise business decisions. MB better get their act together and accept responsibility for poor quality or they are going to loose us as future buyers. I wonder just how many owners are out there with the same problem and just are not talking about it? Perhaps an owner revolt is in order. I hope NSA doesn't trigger on that `revolt` word!
