Doesn't driving one of these German statusmobiles say to the world "I'm rich, feel free to rip me off"?
Recharging AC is a simple task and everything needed to do it is available at chain auto parts stores, except the vacuum pump. That is available from Northern Tool, Grainger, McMaster-Carr and many other sources.
I have both R12 and R134 AC systems in my 1971, 1978, 1995 and 2005 vehicles and servicing them has consisted of periodically replacing leaked refrigerant except on the 1971 that needed compressor seals a few times over the decades and a new condensor a couple of years back.
