Hi...I'm Andy, from Scotland. Had my SLK for 6 years...its a 2001 320 with a manual gearbox.

Okay, so other than a few minor issues, and an ongoing rust problem, car has been fine until today. It is losing oil big time...no idea from where, bloke from AA can't see either, but it is a mess. Looks like it is coming from the back of the engine, and is dripping down on to gearbox and then onto exhaust. No oil leak is minor, but is there a common component that potentially has failed, or is this going to mean a major repair. I know the info here is scant, and is probably a case of best guess, but any help would be appreciated...

Thanks in advance everyone

Andy

Welcome to Benzworld, the most common cause of this type of leak is the cam cover gaskets on the 112 engine;
