Question Please explain auto-dimming

Hello friends,

I searched but didn't find what I was looking for. Could someone please explain how the chemical substance embedded in the mirror glass enable these mirrors to dim?

Thanks in advance,

Musikmann

Yes it does DrX, thank you very much. A few of us have been calling this "photochromism" but that didn't quite make sense to me. I now see it is called "electrochromism" because of the low voltage applied. Although I took a course in optics once, I probably wouldn't understand the physics of it.
