W211 CLIMATE CONTROL A/C OFF KEEPS BLINKING & NO COOL AIR

I JUST PURCHASED A 2003 E500 SPORT AND THE A/C DOESNT WORK! THE A/C OFF LOGO KEEPS BLINKING! I TOOK IT TO MY SHOP AND THEY VACCUMED THE SYSTEM AND TRIED RECHARGING IT BUT IT WOULDN'T TAKE IN THE GAS.. SOMEONE SAID THAT IT NEEDS TO BE RESET???? PLEASE HELP!!
IT'S HOT AS HELL IN NEW YORK LOL!!

If the system would not accept the recharge it sounds like your compressor is not running. That's probably what the red blinking light is indicating or the system is low on refrigerant, or both. On our older W210 E-Class the EC button evidently behaves like your A/C OFF one does.

You have a W211 E-Class and there is a forum for your series. Try scrolling down to the sedans section and you will see it. Maybe those owners will have some more ideas.

Most of the time it means the freon is too low. The compressor is always runiing on the W211s because it is a variable displacement compressor.

Do not go get one of those DIY recharge kits from a parts store. It need to be checked by a shop that has a AC machine that will vacuum down the system, hold the vacuum to make sure there is not a leak, add the exact amount of freon, oil and a UV dye all in one step.
If it somehow leaks out again the UV dye will show a technician where the leak is.

Of course they will check the compressor if the pressure is already high enough and no charge is needed. They do fail internally on occasion.
