brand new and need some help, please

Hi - not only brand new to this forum, but brand new to forums period, so please forgive mistakes I will make learning how these things work. I've decided that I need a 88 or preferably 89 560sl. I'm just starting to look around and could use any guidance on issues to look for. 1st thing that I'm really curious about (OK here I go exposing some major ignorance...) is climate control issues on older 560SLs. I understand there are problems that can pop up with the AC not working properly, not coming out center vent or something along those lines. Since I don't own one yet and have never seen an owners manual I don't even know what the climate control buttons represent and therefore would not know how to properly test the climate control when I'm testing out vehicles. So how about starting me out with some extrememly basic knowledge along those lines. I assume the circle symbol on the far right is your basic on/off button. What are the rest, and how would I go through a series of testing the climate control.

The new member intro forum is really more of a place to say "hi, I'm here."

For detailed info about your car (or what you'd like to become your car) the best bet is to peruse the forum specific to that model. The one you're drooling after () is the R107, so cruise on down the main forum page to the roadster section, where you'll then see the R107 forum.

Good luck and happy shopping.

Oh, and welcome aboard.
