w203 c220 cutting out

I would appreciate it if anyone knows the most likely culprit that makes my C220 cut out maybe 4 or 5 hundred yards after pulling away and then takes forever to restart. it only does it when its warm so far. It starts straight away from hot or cold and most of the time runs great. I think it may be the electric fuel pump in the tank but that is just my guess. Has anyone had anything similar or know of a common problem. There is no engine lights and no fault codes on my primitive obd2 reader. 157,000 miles.

The fuel pump is a possibility but I would suspect the crankshaft position sensor. From what I've heard they don't always throw a code. When mine went bad I had a check engine light but the dealer diagnosed both that and one of the oxygen sensors. I don't know which code(s) were stored because I forgot to ask. Plus I didn't hook up my OBD2 scanner to check myself.

Thanks for responding Musikmann, I think its is worth taking out the pump and check voltage etc. i am not sure where the Crank sensor is located but last time I had trouble with it I thought it might be that but ended up being injector leakoffs.
