Hi to all

I'm the proud owner of a sometimes running A160 Auto, 2001!
I bought it from my sister when the transmission packed up and have been struggling to get it fixed for a reasonable amount ever since...

Initially I replaced the GRM module and then sent in the FTC (valve body controller) to ECU Testing in the UK for repair. It worked for a bit, then died again. It was sent back under warranty and then deemed beyond repair and was refunded without question.

On getting it back I decided to strip the module to take a look - I was slightly disillusioned to find that only some of the internal links had been repaired (not all) and a professional "bonding tool" was not used for the repair (simply some wire and solder). Not really what I would expect from a company that appears at face value so dependable and recommended.

My real question is this - is one able to source (from anywhere), a new FTC/ECU without the valve body included? In South Africa, the agents will only sell the entire valve body, ECU, valves etc complete at an astronomical price! Also, used units are virtually impossible to find.

Thanks for your kind consideration
