Just a quick hello to say Hi, I am a Benz virgin who has just bought a 2000 A-Class.
Finding this forum made my day as I have no experience of owning or driving Mercedes.
With that in mind, I apologise in advance for the idiocy of my question...
When I bought the car on Friday (today is Moday) the central locking worked and fuel flap & boot (trunk) could open.
However, due to not being properly fastened, the battery went flat and I had to secure it a couple of days later after the car wouldn't start.
Now the central locking doesn't work and the fuel flap & boot won't open. I put new batteries into the car key but to no avail.
Could the reason for this be that the car battery is not charged enough yet? (I have only driven about 7 miles since reconnecting the battery).
Any thoughts much appreciated!
