Hello from Austin

Just recently purchased a 2002 E320 Wagon with 160,000 miles.

It seemed like a good deal at the time as: a) I was buying it from my parents and got a good deal; b) My dad was very meticulous about maintenance; c) the car has been garaged the whole time and looks pristine; d) my parents are 70+ years old so they definitely didn't abuse it.

However, since I took possession of it three weeks ago:
- I had to replace the rear struts and tires (~$2K)
- Just found out this morning that the rattling that started this week is the catalytic converter going out (haven't gotten a full estimate but it will probably be another ~$1-2K).

So, part of me has a bit of buyer's remorse, but part of me really enjoys that MB ride going down the highway!

I'm looking forward to interacting with the forums and see that I will probably need to do that often in order to save some money.
