I had a hard starting problem...
with my (new to me) 190E 2.6 (1991). So I started reading up on what all of you had to say. After I found out where the affected areas actually were on the chassis, I went to work trying to sort the good ones from the bad ones.
I hit the jackpot when I removed the battery, plastic cover to inspect the OVP relay. Mine has two fuses so it had been changed at least once before. Found out the front fuse had no continuity. I replaced it, reinstalled all the parts and, with trepidation, turned over the ignition. A miracle occurred!! It started promptly and immediately went to fast idle. If anyone was in the area they were probably why this guy was dancing...
I am still going through with the fluids change, cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires change and fuel pressure check, just to ease my mind.
Thanks to all you benzworld members for your help.
