Ok, figured it out...some numbnutz who soldered on the fuel pump at the factory soldered them on backwards. When I took off the plastic cap, I saw the brown was soldered to hot and the yellow/green soldered to the negative terminal. I know this wire should be red/green but this is an aftermarket brand. So now since I've reversed the wires, fuel started flowing and I'm on the road again. I have heard people warn about buying aftermarket brand fuel pumps, but my options were $350 OEM at the dealer, $280 in town, or $60 on Ebay. Mine was $60 and well, it works. I don't know about longevity, but for the price this was the best option at the time.
Fuel Filter: One last thing I will say...I was sold the wrong fuel filter and the parts store tells me it's the only one they have for this year. It was totally not correct. I have a late '95 C220, as there are different pumps and filters depending on the VIN. And after searching on Ebay to find the right one, I noticed another model which shared the same filter, the 97 C230. So I called the parts store and asked for that filter and sure enough it was correct for my car, not the one they originally sold me. So I hope any of this info helps anyone out.
