Highway cruiser par excellence
Damn, I love that car.
My roommate and I made our annual pilgrimage to Penguicon yesterday. The drive revealed it as a highway cruiser par excellence. It did everything I asked of it with no muss and no fuss. That includes keeping up with 75-80 MPH traffic going across Chicago on I-80, complete with at least one pass significantly faster than that when I decided I really didn't want to be behind that squirrelly-acting 18 wheeler. My roommate never even stirred, asleep in the passenger seat.
We made our usual refueling stop in Davenport, Iowa. This picture of the car's trip computer was taken just west of Kalamazoo, Michigan. No, we hadn't stopped. I have only one complaint: the actual gas mileage wasn't the 28 it shows, but 30.4.
781 miles in one day is still a long drive, but that car, perhaps even more than the Lexus RX350 I had before the economy went to hell, made it a lot more pleasant.
