How can u disable an ML so it can't be started?

I have an ex-gf who has a key to my '08 ML, who I am afraid may try to drive off in. Is there an easy way to disable the ignition or some type of connection that will easily prevent this from happening? Thanks so much if you can suggest anything!

If she won't give you the key back, go to the dealer and tell them what happened. They can look at your key (that you want to keep) and then disable the other one so it will no longer work with the vehicle. They can also order a new key for you so you'll still have two, and I'd highly encourage that, since if you lose your other one it's lots more painful and expensive to get another.

Good luck.

Pull some circuit breakers. You can even disable the ignition so that the engine turns over but won't fire.

Have you asked for the key back? I would and document the time and what was discussed. I am not sure where you live but you can inform your local police that there is an individual who has a key but has no legal standing to have the vehicle. Grand theft auto is pretty serious. If she does drive away in it, file criminal charges.

Don't spend any money to replace keys, or any time to disable and reenable it everytime you want to drive it. Call her up and demand the key back, if she refuses then hang up and call the police. Why would you even consider letting her win by making you spend money and time on being afraid of what she will do? You are letting this woman walk all over you and you need to take control.

Great advice when you know absolutely nothing of the situation.

She may be a psycho and come after him -- or perhaps she is suicidal and would off herself. Maybe the OP is just non-confrontational. Why not let him handle *her* in the manner he deems most appropriate?
